C2E2 Announcements Wrap-Up Part 1 - Marvel Big Shots

Wednesday, March 23, 2011 by Travis
With C2E2 wrapping up, I just wanted to post some of the things that were announced that I am most excited about...first up is the "return" of some of my favorite Marvel characters...and with kick-ass creators to boot!

First up...Mark Waid, Marcos Martin, and Paolo Rivera on Daredevil
Oh thank god...Daredevil has been one of my favorite characters since even before I started reading comics and we were so blessed to have a run of Frank Miller, Kevin Simth, Bendis, and Brubaker with Quesada, Lark, and Maleev blowing our minds with art. It was painful to have to go through Shadowland and I am very looking forward to getting back to good Daredevil comics with one of my favorite writers. Oh, and Marcos Martin is going to have a field day with all the angles and buildings in Hell's Kitchen.

The other great thing about this announcement is that it appears as though Black Panther: The Man Without Fear should continue for at least a little while longer...allowing us more of that breathtaking Francavilla art!

Here are some pictures and their description:

"An all-new era for Matt Murdock begins here, as he returns to New York to reclaim his life and the mantle of Daredevil! But for a man who’s suspected of being Daredevil—and of the actions in Shadowland—how can he possibly become a lawyer again? Will the super heroes of New York accept that Matt is a hero they can once again trust? One thing’s for sure- Murdock is back to protect the city he loves and he’s jumping head first into danger, because there’s nowhere else he’d rather be!"

Up next is a new creative team for the Punisher...oh my god Greg Rucka is back! Greg Rucka has produced some of my all-time favorite comics and I am thrilled to have him back. I am just about half-way through Remender's run on Punisher and am reading the Max series when I get the chance as well, so the timing couldn't be better.I think Rucka is perfect for the street level Marvel world, and this should be a must-read series for the summer.

Finally, but actually the first of the announcements is Bendis and Maleev reuniting on Moon Knight. I know some people are upset that he is planning on changing up the character a bit, but it's Bendis, and he is generally awesome with the whole writing comics thing...so let's have a little faith, eh? It will be awesome to see some more Maleev art, and Moon Knight should be perfect (he's really one of the only artists they could use to top Opena after he did his thing a little while ago).
